Talking about Iqbal, his Poetry and his Ideas is not a child's play.Iqbal in his era was among those who listened to him and understood his ideas, not completely but good enough to raise a revolution. After that, instead of understanding him more we all began loosing his thoughts and got ourselves stuck in semi western and semi Islamic psyche with some topping of Indian culture. Now we only remember Iqbal as our national poet on 9th Nov. and that's too when we see his name on TV.
We can find a good example of a Sufi in his soul, a revolutionary Mujahid, an Activist, a brilliant Poet, a Thought provoking person and a Think Tank. In his words he captured all the aspects of life, all the feelings of human being and also gave the basic solutions for the problems which one might face in its personal life and cumulative contribution to society. He was so much clear and pure in his thoughts that he enclosed all the solutions in just one word i.e. "Khudi". Giving the name of "Shaheen" (eagle) to the youth he mentioned the attitude and style which our youth should follow.
Today on Iqbal Day (9 Nov), its obligatory for us to read about his thoughts and try to act accordingly in life. Now the questions arises why should follow his thoughts? what is the criteria that he was right. For answer i would say that the creation of Pakistan and revolution in Iran is enough to judge. Yes the Iranian revolution had its seed in the poetry of Iqbal too. I would request our people just try to read once his "Falsafa-e-Khudi" and your inner-self will tell you that he was right.

A true son of this soil!A true musilm in his soul!
Some verse from his initial ghazals,
"Your civilization will commit suicide with its own daggers;
A nest built on frail bough can not be durable!"
i like his poems "shikwa" n "jawab e shikwa" the most.
